Iraq requests JIEC’s experience to execute an industrial estate

Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals Eng. Mohammed al-Sudani called on Jordan Industrial Estates Company (JIEC) to provide a technical study of an Iraqi industrial estate on the border between Iraq and Jordan so as to host Iraqi- mini and medium industries besides taking advantage of the Jordanian experience in serving investments also the experience in establishing and operating the industrial estates.

The Iraqi request came during a meeting with the Iraqi Minister accompanied by the Ambassador of the Republic of Iraq in Amman Safia Al-Suhail, the Chairman of (JIEC) Dr. Loay Sehwail and the CEO Dr. Jalal Al-Debee, at Abdullah II Bin Al Hussein Industrial Estate in Sahab.

Moreover, another meeting took place at Association attended by Jordan investors Association Chairman Mr. Nabil Ismael, the Chairman of Jordan Chamber of Industry Eng. Adnan Abu Ragheb, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Yousuf Al Shamali and the Secretary General of the Investment Authority Faridon Hartouqa.

Dr. Loay Sehwail, stressed that the company will make all needed efforts to meet the requirements for establishing of the industrial on border between Jordan and Iraq upon receiving the proposed side and time frame.

Dr. Jalal Al-Debee, delivered a short brief about business environment and available opportunities within the industrial estates. Also, he highlighted the accumulative experience of the company in establishment, development, and management the industrial estates, which will be used in cooperation with the Iraqi side.
