Jordan Industrial Estates Company said that the anniversary of the Kingdom's 75th Independence Day brings to mind the promising launch of the Jordanian industrial estates, which launched its march for the first time in the history of Jordan in 1985 when the late, God willing, His Majesty King Hussein bin Talal, may God rest his soul, open the first industrial Estate in Jordan, which is King Abdullah II Industrial Estate (Sahab Industrial Estate at that time), announcing the promising launch of the Jordanian industry and dedicating the values of work, production and development in the march of the national industry, and ushering in an economic development renaissance that spread throughout the various regions of the Kingdom, wanted by Hussein, may God rest his soul, and led by His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein, may he protect him God.
The Jordan Industrial Estates Company confirmed in a statement that in the midst of the Kingdom’s celebrations on the occasion of Independence Day, which coincides this year with the Kingdom’s celebrations of the centenary of the Jordanian state, its industrial estates are preparing to enter the second centenary with a bouquet of achievements and continuous construction in the field of establishing, managing and marketing Jordanian industrial estates and embracing the promising Jordanian industry Which was launched from the Jordanian land to various parts of the world, indicating that the industrial estates operating in the various regions of the Kingdom formed economic edifices that embodied the meanings of independence and its pride in its multiple achievements and its various national contributions in supporting and supplying the national economy. and ages.
The Director General of the company, Omar Jweaed, renewed his pride in what the Jordanian industrial estates have achieved at the level of the national economy by attracting qualitative investments in various productive fields, which have provided thousands of job opportunities for Jordanian youth, in addition to their role in the development of the governorates and the distribution of development gains and their growing repercussions on the figures of national exports and GDP. Which would not have been achieved without the patronage of the triumphant Hashemite leadership that roamed the world and made Jordan a model for the countries of the region and the world in the field of industrial estates construction, development, management and marketing, which made many countries draw from the Jordanian experience in the field of Jordanian industrial estates.
Juwaid said that the anniversary of the independence is considered for the Jordanian industrial estates as a motive and a symbol of giving, production and construction in the state of the Hashemites, who were and still are the builders of independence and its sponsors throughout the ages and ages. No year passes without witnessing more progress and renaissance in various fields in general, and at the level of industrial estates in particular. Which has become a national economic edifice that embodies the meanings of independence and its pride, indicating that the industrial estates’ contributions to enhancing and embodying the meanings of independence are multiple, so it set out plans and strategies aimed at rooting the identity of the national industry and the Jordanian product, which today has become a local, Arab and international competitor by providing all the reasons for the success of investment work in its estates. The Jordanian industrial estates constitute the largest incubator for these investments, whose number exceeded today more than 840 industrial companies.
Juwaid revealed that, during the reign of King Abdullah II, the great son of Hussein, the Jordanian industrial estates witnessed progress in terms of horizontal and vertical expansion in the establishment of industrial estates that attract industrial investments and provide job opportunities and that are working to bring about a development renaissance in its various aspects in the places where these estates are spread, from two industrial estates in Sahab And Irbid in 1999 to ten industrial estates in 2020 spread across the various regions and estates of the Kingdom under royal guidance and unparalleled government support to continue work and production and attract investments and provide a safe environment for them through the enactment of more laws and regulations to facilitate its work in cooperation with various official and private agencies.
Juwaid indicated that the number of industrial companies in the various industrial estates until the end of the year 2020 amounted to 850 industrial companies with an investment volume of (2971.7) million dinars, which provided nearly 65 thousand job opportunities. As its annual exports exceed 1.5 billion dinars, Juwaid added that local investments account for 40 percent of the total projects established within industrial estates, and foreign investments account for 17 percent, and Arab investments account for 16 percent, and the rest are joint projects.
It is noteworthy that the operating industrial estates affiliated with the company are located in Sahab, Irbid, Karak, Aqaba, Mafraq and Muwaqar, while new industrial estates are being prepared and will begin their work soon in Salt, Tafileh and Madaba.
