Jordan Industrial Estates Company (JIEC) has signed an agreement with the National Electricity Company to establish a main electricity transfer station at Zarqa Industrial Estate to supply it with its electrical energy needs with total cost around (9) million JOD, and it will be implemented in the Upcoming 3 years.
According to the Jordan Industrial Estates Company, The agreement aims to establish a main Electricity transfer station (132/33 kV) with a capacity of (80 Mega Volts) with the possibility of upgrading to (40 Mega bytes) and can be increased more in the future, through the launching of a substation (33/11 KVA), to provide the estate and investor with their electricity needs. The agreement was signed by the Director General of the JIEC, Mr. Omar Jwaid, and the General Manager of the National Electric Power Company, Eng. Amjad Al Rawashdeh, in the presence of the Chairman of the JIEC, Dr. Loay Sehwail and representatives of both companies.
Mr. Jwaid indicated that the first phase of Zarqa Industrial Estate is considered one of the most important strategic projects of the company and its executive plan for the years (2020-2025), and it also comes within the government’s priorities plan for the years (2021-2023) with total area of first phase 1116 dunums out of 4700 dunums which aims to bring about development in various governates of the Kingdom, and provide more job opportunities for the Jordanian, in addition of Enhancing the industrial estates as an investment destination.
