Jordan Industrial Estates Company (JIEC) started to execute the treatment of smells emitted by the (WWTP) of Abdullah II Industrial Estate in Sahab. The implementation tasks include covering the drainage tanks, installing the deodorization unit, and installing the acidity equilibration device which will cost almost half a million U.S Dollars, where it is expected to be completed within five months.
Furthermore, a statement from the company expressed that the implementation work, which recently had started, will be done by one of the major local contracting companies specialized in the field of waste water treatment plants in association with the Water Authority experts; this came in line after a long and intensive studies to find the best solutions and the most appropriate recommendations in the field of treating smells and implement them to the (WWTP) in Abdullah II Industrial Estate which has witnessed an overload from factories because of the incensement in investments in the estate, in which the occupancy rate reached 100%.
Beside, Dr. Jalal Al-Debie, the CEO of JIEC, stated that the company pays a great attention to the environmental issues in the Industrial Estates and it continuously seeks partnership with various official and private sectors as well as the local community to develop the most efficient solutions for the treatment of the wastewater, pointed out that the repair and the developmental work of the waste water treatment plant reflects JIEC’s commitment to provide a friendly environment to the neighboring communities.
It is noteworthy that Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein Industrial Estate is located in the city of Sahab Amman Governorate, includes (449) industrial companies in various industrial sectors, whereas the occupancy rate reached 100%, and generated (15,000) jobs.
